The eHealth Initiative and Foundation (eHI) proudly announces the Third Annual Connecting Communities Learning Forum and Exhibition, April 10-11th with a reception at 5:30 p.m. on April 9th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
The Connecting Communities Learning Forum will bring together diverse stakeholders, including practicing clinicians, health plans, public sector leaders including federal and state policy-makers, quality improvement organizations, and emerging regional and community based health information organizations to:
-
Identify common take-away principles and strategies (clinical, financial, legal, organizational, and technical) to support better health and healthcare through health information exchange (HIE), with the goal of broad dissemination beyond the Learning Forum;
- Educate through case study presentations and in-depth discussions, share tools with communities to promote HIE, and practical approaches for tackling common challenges;
- Agree upon near-term actions that can be taken by stakeholders and regions to promote better healthcare through HIE;
- Facilitate the development of collaborative relationships among diverse stakeholders at the national, regional and local levels.
The format of the Learning Forum will be highly interactive; participants will have many opportunities to talk with national experts in HIE and their peers, including representatives from communities that have successfully shifted away from paper record keeping.
